Congratulations to Smallfry talent Hudson Sharp who is starring as young Bobby Darin in “Dream Lover”, alongside some amazing artists including David Campbell and Marina Pryor. Hudson is doing a stellar job and receiving rave reviews:
“I couldn’t help but fall in love with the performance of the youngest performer (Hudson Sharp), who plays young Darin on opening night. He was full of confidence and had his own swagger going on, in his natural ability to move in dance, and his vocals were sharp and crystal. He just stood out for me as an unmissable talent” – Weekend Notes (Full Review here: https://www.weekendnotes.com/dream-lover-the-bobby-darin-musical-review/)

Congratulations to DTE’s Don Winsor, who will STAR in the lead role of Martin in “Falsettos”.
Written in the 1980s at the height of the AIDS pandemic, the show revolves around the life of a charming, intelligent, neurotic gay man named Marvin, his wife, lover, about-to-be-Bar-Mitzvahed son, their psychiatrist and the lesbians next door. When tragedy strikes and Marvin’s lover is diagnosed with AIDS, all participants must put their differences aside and unite as the modern family they have now become. The production is a poignant, quirky and hilarious look at the infinite possibilities that make up a modern family, and although there is a timeliness to the piece in Australia right now – with the ABS Marriage Equality Survey still taking place at the time of writing – Falsettos is not a political play. It’s a really interesting study of a diverse family featuring some wonderful humour and a very quirky, bright broadway score by William Finn.
